The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced winter vacations for schools and colleges operating under the federal education system in Islamabad.According to the notification, model schools and colleges in Islamabad will remain closed for winter break. Academic activities will resume once the vacation period ends.The decision has been taken to protect students and staff from severe weather conditions, including dense fog and snowfall, which are affecting many parts of the country, especially mountainous areas.Other provinces have also announced winter vacations for educational institutions:Sindh: All public and private schools will remain closed during the winter break, with reopening planned after the vacation period.Punjab: Schools in the province will observe winter vacations, resuming academic activities once the break concludes.Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Institutions in summer zones will remain closed for a shorter period, while schools in winter zones will observe an extended break due to harsher weather conditions.
