WhatsApp To Work Without Internet

Reports suggest that WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is testing a new feature that will allow users to share files such as photos and videos with other nearby WhatsApp users without the need for an internet connection.

The platform is also working on introducing an in-app dialler for users, according to Business Standard. The feature is currently available for testing in the beta version of the platform, allowing users to share files such as documents and other media with other nearby WhatsApp users. However, the in-app dialler is not yet available for testing, as it is still in the early stages of development. Users will need to be near other WhatsApp users for the feature to work, as it uses a locally created network. Meta has also given users the option to revoke these permissions at any time.

WhatsApp has made file sharing end-to-end encrypted for security, similar to messages. Recently, Meta added its AI assistant, Meta AI, to WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. The AI assistant can answer questions, create animations, and generate images. Earlier this year, WhatsApp added a new custom sticker creation option on iOS, enabling users to edit images from the camera roll into their unique visual combinations.
