What Should Users Do To Avoid Blocking Mobile Phone SIMs?

On the direction of the federal government, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has started the second phase of banning illegal SIMs.

According to the details, on the instructions of the federal government, the PTA is conducting an operation to stop the illegal use of SIMs.

In a statement, officials of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said that those whose ID cards have expired before 2017 and have not been renewed have started blocking their SIMs.

PTA says that citizens should renew their ID cards to avoid blocking of SIMs, in the first phase SIMs were blocked on fake SIMs and canceled ID cards.

PTA said that more than 69,000 illegal SIMs have been closed since August 16, illegal SIMs are being closed based on the data obtained from NADRA.

Officials say that in the third phase, SIMs registered in the names of deceased persons will be closed

Alert messages are being sent to users before the shutdown of mobile SIMs.

PTA officials further said that fake SIMs are being used in various illegal activities.

Illegal SIMs are used in terrorism, financial fraud and other activities.
