What Happens to Non-Custom Cars After Seizure?
Islamabad: While non-custom paid (NCP) vehicles are reported to number in the hundreds of thousands across Pakistan, it’s important to know how many of these vehicles are officially in the custody of Pakistan Customs — and how they are handled.
According to official figures received by Urdu News, Pakistan Customs currently has 1,665 NCP vehicles in its possession. These vehicles were seized due to non-payment of customs duties.
A spokesperson for Pakistan Customs clarified that these vehicles are generally not used for official or departmental purposes. However, in rare cases and after fulfilling legal requirements, some vehicles may be used temporarily and in a limited capacity based on necessity.
The Customs department also confirmed that the auction of seized vehicles follows a legal and transparent process, allowing public participation in the bidding.
