Weather Department To Deploy Modern Radars Across Pakistan

Karachi: The meteorological department has decided to buy a modern radar for weather forecasting.

According to the Director General of the Meteorological Department, Sahibzada Khan, 5 fixed radars will be installed in different parts of the country, while the Meteorological Department will also purchase 3 portable surveillance radars.

DG Meteorological Department said that radars will be installed in Cherat, and Dera Ismail Khan cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while radars will also be installed in Quetta, Gwadar, and Lahore.

According to Sahibzada Khan, 300 automatic weather stations will also be installed in different parts of the country.

It may be noted that a radar-equipped with advanced technology was installed in Karachi in 2019 to provide advanced information on the amount of rain in the cloud and cyclones.
