We Will Not Leave Balochistan’s Print Media Alone: Babar Yousafzai

Quetta (PR): Former Spokesperson of the Government of Balochistan, Babar Yousafzai, has said that no injustice will be tolerated against the print media, and the voice of the newspaper industry will be raised on every platform. He expressed concern over the government’s disregard for the ground realities faced by the print media in Balochistan.

He made these remarks during his visit to the office of Masail News, where he met with the Chief Editor and Provincial Spokesperson of the All Pakistan Regional Newspapers Society (R) Balochistan, Israr Muhammad Khetran. During the meeting, Israr Khetran briefed him on the challenges faced by the newspaper industry in Balochistan, the symbolic protest camp set up by the Action Committee for Newspaper Industry, and the government’s attempt to transfer advertisement distribution to BPPRA.

Babar Yousafzai assured that the print media of Balochistan will not be left alone under any circumstances. He said that the Government of Balochistan has always worked for the betterment of the province. Thousands of people are employed in the regional newspaper industry, and the government should avoid any actions that could harm this vital sector.

He further pledged full support to newspaper owners and workers, stating that the concerns regarding the BPPRA advertisement policy and the appointment of the Provincial Information Minister will be communicated to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti. “We will not allow any newspaper owner or media worker to become unemployed,” he concluded.
