The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir addressed the Pakistan Air Force’s passing out parade at the Asghar Khan Academy in Risalpur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He acknowledged the constitutional limits of the military and expects others to uphold the Constitution.
The army chief highlighted that Article 19 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan provides clear restrictions on freedom of speech and expression of opinion, and those who violate these limitations cannot point fingers at others.During the ceremony, General Asim praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Air Force and stated that the force has always met the expectations of the nation.
He addressed the cadets, emphasizing that a strong air force is essential for a country’s defence. The army chief commended the PAF’s unparalleled bravery and professionalism in patrolling the airspace, citing February 2019 as an excellent example for all of us.General Asim expressed confidence in the cadets,
calling them the centre of the nation’s hopes, the guardian of the skies, and the guarantor of regional unity. He advised them to lead a life adorned with the virtues of character, courage, and competence. The army chief expects them to uphold the nation’s best spirit, professionalism, and the eternal tradition of bravery.The army chief also addressed regional peace and security. He stated that an arms race would disturb the balance of power in the region, and the ongoing war in Gaza is an example of the suffering that wars can bring.
The indiscriminate killing of elderly people, women, and children in Gaza is proof that violence is increasing in the world. Regarding the Kashmir issue, General Asim said India has illegally occupied Kashmir. He expressed his concern about the ongoing Indian aggression in the valley, which the entire world seems to be ignoring. He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to the cause and promised to provide moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri brothers.
