United Political Leadership Vows Strong Response to India

Islamabad: The Senate unanimously passed a resolution condemning India’s allegations and recent actions against Pakistan. The Senate session was chaired by Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, during which Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar presented the resolution.

The resolution strongly condemned India’s unilateral actions and terrorism. The House rejected all Indian allegations, stating that Pakistan will give an effective response at all levels to India’s malicious campaign. It was made clear in the resolution that any possible Indian aggression will be met with a strong response.

In his address, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared, and if anyone casts an evil eye, the response will be as harsh as in the past. He stated that the political leadership is united, and the resolution was prepared with cooperation from the opposition.

He further mentioned that diplomatic efforts are underway; 26 countries have already been briefed on the situation, while more will be informed today. He also noted that talks with the Saudi Foreign Minister will take place at 7 PM.

The Foreign Minister added that water is directly linked to the lives of 240 million Pakistanis, and the National Security Committee has made it clear that cutting off water is equivalent to an act of war. He emphasized that the Indus Waters Treaty cannot be suspended unilaterally, as the consent of both parties is required.

Calling India an obstacle to peace and development in the region, he said SAARC countries desire progress, but India’s stubbornness and intransigence are preventing the process from moving forward.
