Twitter Will Be Fully Blocked In Pakistan If The Office Is Not Opened: Huzaifa Rehman

Minister of State, Huzaifa Rehman, has warned that the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) will be completely blocked in Pakistan if it does not open an office in the country and register with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). He added that even VPN access will not allow its usage in such a scenario.

Speaking to anchor Waseem Badami on a private news channel program, Huzaifa Rehman said the government is considering that if Twitter does not open its office in Pakistan in accordance with local laws and fails to follow regulations, there will be no option but to limit or block the platform entirely.

He further stated that if Twitter wants to conduct business in Pakistan, it must establish an office and register with the PTA. Otherwise, it could face a complete ban in the country, similar to China, where even VPN access will be blocked and the platform will be fully inaccessible.
