Trump Claims Russia-ukraine War Nearing An End

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that a peace agreement to end the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war is now close to being finalized.
The White House has also confirmed significant progress on the proposed peace plan while noting that a few sensitive points still require further negotiation.

Speaking at a Thanksgiving event at the White House, President Trump said that thousands of soldiers have already lost their lives in the conflict, but exceptional progress has been made on the draft peace agreement. He added that he managed to halt eight conflicts within just nine months and is now making decisive efforts to bring the Russia-Ukraine war to an end as well.

Trump revealed that he has instructed his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, to travel to Moscow for a meeting with the Russian president to finalize the remaining points of the agreement. According to him, only a few contentious issues are left unresolved.

A few days earlier, American and Ukrainian officials held negotiations in Geneva on a 28-point U.S. peace proposal, after which both sides agreed to work on a new framework to move the peace process forward.

It is noteworthy that Trump has already given Ukraine a November 27 deadline to accept the proposed peace agreement.
