Trump Announces Pakistan-India Ceasefire

In a major development, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a breakthrough in the rising tensions between Pakistan and India. Taking to social media, Trump revealed that after extensive late-night discussions with both sides, Pakistan and India have agreed to an immediate ceasefire.

President Trump congratulated both nations and their people, calling the ceasefire decision wise and stating that the United States played a mediating role in the process. He also thanked the parties for their cooperation in resolving the conflict.

The announcement comes hours after a missile strike by Pakistan on Indian targets, reportedly causing significant damage. Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio had disclosed that over the past 48 hours, he and Vice President Mike Pence had engaged in conversations with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Army Chief General Asim Munir, and other officials.

Rubio added that both governments have not only agreed to an immediate ceasefire but also to initiate broader talks at a neutral venue. The recent escalation followed a deadly attack in Pahalgam, Indian-occupied Kashmir, which had triggered military responses from both sides.
