Tech Giants to Train 500000 Pakistani Youth for Free

Federal Minister for IT, Shaza Fatima, has announced that world-renowned companies like Google, Huawei, and Microsoft will provide training in modern IT skills to 500,000 Pakistani youth.

Among these companies, Google will train 200,000, Huawei 300,000, and Microsoft 200,000 youth, to adapt Pakistan’s IT workforce to world standards.

Talking to the media in Islamabad, Shaza Fatima said that the government has decided to make Islamabad a pilot smart city.

Under this project, all government schools, hospitals, BHUs, and police stations in the city will be connected to the fiber optic network in the next 6 to 8 months, which will significantly improve their digital capabilities.

Additionally, various locations are being identified to provide free Wi-Fi to citizens,

and Wi-Fi services will be provided at other public places, such as metro stations, under a public-private partnership.

Revolutionary measures have also been announced in the field of education. Shaza Fatima said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other modern technologies will be made a part of the educational curriculum, not only up to the sixth grade but also up to the kindergarten level in the future.

EdTech is also making it possible to provide quality education in remote areas.

A modern system called “One Patient, One ID” is being introduced in the health sector, under which each patient will be given a unique identity.

After the provision of internet in BHUs is completed, the facility of online medical consultation will also be provided in remote areas through telemedicine.

Finally, he said that on the instructions of the Prime Minister, a special committee is working to include IT subjects in the national curriculum, so that every child of Pakistan can join the race for development by adapting to future technology.
