Government elementary schools in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) want to implement a new policy that will eliminate the need for pupils to carry their school books back and forth from their houses to the institution, with the goal of easing the strain on younger kids.
As an alternative, the schools will install book racks and pigeon holes in the classrooms to keep the books, creating a comfortable and kid-friendly learning environment. This programme seeks to lessen the weight of bulky school backpacks and encourage pupils to learn in a more positive and healthy environment.
Speaking with Dawn, Education Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani stated that he had been working on the policy for more than a month and that all arrangements will be completed prior to the start of classes.
Parents and students alike applaud the decision, which should benefit the developing minds of the students. All government primary schools in the capital are making the required preparations for the new policy, which will take effect on August 1st, he added.
Mr. Wani thought that the new policy would make young students happy.
Olympiad in Computer Science and Maths
This year’s Pakistan Maths and Computer Science Olympiad (PMCSO) is scheduled for September.
The goal, according to the statement, is to find and develop gifted kids in computer science and mathematics while advancing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) excellence in education.
The PMCSO seeks to foster in pupils a love of maths and computer science as well as critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Students will get an opportunity to compete with their classmates, show off their talents, and aim for excellence through the Olympiad.
One of the main aspects is a national competition for kids in grades six through twelve in two different categories: computer science and mathematics. There will be online registration and assessments, and the top 500 performances will be recognised in a ceremony honouring the victors and earn prizes, including cash awards.
