Storm Alert: Rain, Gusty Winds to Hit Multiple Cities
Islamabad: The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain and strong winds in various areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the next 24 to 48 hours, which is likely to reduce the heat intensity.
According to reports, the weather will continue to be hot and dry in most districts of Punjab. However, light rain is expected in Murree and Galiyat, accompanied by partly cloudy weather.
Light rain with strong winds is likely in the cities of Bahawalnagar, Multan, Sahiwal, and Pakpattan of southern Punjab, while rain with gusty winds has been predicted in Khanewal and Dera Ghazi Khan.
The chances of rain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are relatively high. Rain and gusty winds are expected in Kohistan, Battagram, Swat, Mansehra, Abbottabad and Haripur, due to which the weather is expected to be pleasant.
On the other hand, the weather will remain extremely hot and dry in most districts of Sindh and Balochistan. The temperature may exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department has issued instructions to the citizens to take precautionary measures to avoid heatstroke, avoid unnecessary travel, and keep themselves hydrated.
Residents of rainy areas have also been urged to stay away from low-lying areas and exercise caution.
