Starlink License in Pakistan by December 2025
Federal Minister of State for Information Technology (IT) Shaza Fatima Khawaja has said that Elon Musk’s company Starlink will get a license in November or December this year.
The Federal Minister for IT and Chairman PTA gave a briefing in the meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Information Technology,
Federal Minister Shaza Fatima said in the briefing that Starlink will be issued a license soon, the public will get Starlink by November or December.
The Federal Minister said that Starlink was asking to complete everything by June, but we have given Starlink time until May,
Starlink’s pricing will also have to be discussed. He said that the health of the industry also has to be looked at in the spectrum auction,
The Chairman PTA himself is supervising the auction process, profit is also to be earned but infrastructure is also to be improved.
Shaza Fatima further said that relief must be provided to telecom companies for 5G spectrum, lest the companies go bankrupt when 5G starts, we have to keep both in balance and auction the spectrum, the entire country is running on 274 MHz.
On this occasion, Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Major General (retd) Hafeez-ur-Rehman said that a temporary license has been issued to Starlink, after completing all the steps, the actual registration will be given.
