Sindh Introduces Revised School Timings Amidst Chilling Cold Wave

Schools across Sindh to reopen from 8:30am onwards, new timings are to remain enforced till January 31

With the temperature witnessing a noticeable drop, the Sindh government Friday announced a change in school timings across the province.

As per the notification issued by the Education and Literacy Department, all private and government schools across the province will operate 8:30am onwards.

The decision has been taken in view of the prevailing wave of severe cold in the province, the notification said, further adding that the new timings shall remain enforced till January 31, 2024.

The notification comes as the schools across Sindh continued classes on January 1 following a 10-day winter excursion break that initiated on December 22, 2023.

The new scholarly year in people in general and tuition based schools across Sindh will begin on April 15, 2024, and August 1, 2024, in the universities.

Sindh isn’t the main region confronting extreme cool, as the Punjab government — attributable to brutal weather patterns — has broadened the colder time of year occasions of public and confidential instructive establishments till January 9.

The schools in Punjab will reopen on January 10 with strict restrictions regarding the wearing of face masks within school premises.
