Sindh Govt Offers Free Electric Scooters to Women
Karachi: In a grand move to empower women and solve their transport problems, the Sindh government has formally announced the eligibility for the “Free Electric Scooty Scheme.
This scheme has been launched by the Transport and Mass Transit Department, which aims to lead female students and working women of the province on the path of independence and make daily transportation easier.
The conditions to benefit from this scheme are as follows:
The applicant must be a permanent resident of Sindh. Only female students or working women will be eligible.
A valid driving license is mandatory. Successful candidates will not be able to sell the scooty for 7 years after getting it.
The distribution of scooties will be done through a transparent lottery, which will be monitored by media representatives to ensure transparency.
This step towards women’s independence is being widely welcomed.
