The Sindh government has announced a two-day holiday on October 20 and 21 (Monday and Tuesday) in connection with the Hindu festival of Diwali.
According to a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, the holidays will be applicable only to Hindu employees working in government, semi-government, and local bodies’ institutions, allowing them to celebrate Diwali with their families.
The notification further stated that if any university, college, or school has scheduled examinations on these dates, they will be rescheduled later.
The circular, signed by Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, has been sent to all relevant government departments and institutions for necessary action.
