Shalimar Express Accident, Three Bogies Derail
The Shalimar Express from Lahore to Karachi met with an accident near Shahdara.
Railway sources say that three bogies of the Shalimar Express derailed near Shahdara Railway Station,
One bogie of the train fell off the bridge. Sources say that the up and down track was closed due to the accident, and the schedule of trains from Lahore to Faisalabad was affected
. On the other hand, railway officials say that a relief crane has been dispatched to Shahdara Station, no casualties were reported in the accident.
The Shalimar Express from Lahore to Karachi had an accident on the Shahdara Bridge, the video of which has now also been made public.
It can be seen in the video that the train was passing through the bridge when suddenly one of the bogie’s wheels fell off. Due to the fall of the wheel, the bogies of the train derailed.
After the accident that occurred with the Shalimar Express, train traffic on the track was stopped and now the passengers of the accident-hit train have been sent by another train.
A railway spokesperson said that passengers of seven bogies will reach Wazirabad via Sheikhupura and Sangla Hill, while passengers of the other eight bogies will reach Khanewal via Lahore and Sahiwal.
A Pakistan Railways spokesperson said that the Shalimar Express will be re-prepared at the Khanewal railway station and will depart for Karachi.
