SC Unanimously Accepts Review Appeal, Withdraws Article 63A Decision

A 5-member bench of the Supreme Court, while allowing the Article 63A revision appeal, annulled the decision not to count the votes of the dissenting members.

The Supreme Court annulled the decision of Article 63A from 5th Safar, while pronouncing the decision, the Chief Justice said that the appeals were accepted unanimously.

A detailed decision will be issued later. Meanwhile, the appeals of the Supreme Court Bar Association and others were also approved for hearing.

A 5-member bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa heard the case on the review petition against Article 63A in the Supreme Court.

Lawyer Ali Zafar requested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to appear in the court through video link, which was rejected.

However, Ali Zafar announced a boycott of the case by terming the constitution of the bench by the PTI as illegal.

During the hearing, Barrister Ali Zafar told the court that he had a meeting with Imran Khan yesterday. It was not a private meeting, the police were present.

On this, the Chief Justice said that you did not want to discuss any secret matters, this is a constitutional matter, you also know. Ali Zafar said that the founder of PTI Imran Khan says that the bench is not legal, so there is no point in proceeding.

Request for the appearance of Imran Khan through a video link
Lawyer Ali Zafar requested Imran Khan to attend the court personally and told the Chief Justice that you had given him a chance earlier.

Imran Khan has reservations about the court, he wants to talk. The Chief Justice said Ali Zafar sir, you have not come to the court for the first time, you know how the courts work.

The Chief Justice said that usually the client says that I should be allowed to act as a lawyer, here the lawyer is saying that he will meet the client and tell him.

You volunteered without a power of attorney, we welcomed you. At the first hearing, you are talking about one thing, at the second hearing, and now at the third hearing.

Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa said that Mr. Ali Zafar you are making an unjustified request, you are a senior lawyer and former president of the bar.

Barrister Ali Zafar said that he wanted to say something on behalf of the founder of PTI, Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa said you are an officer of the court, and 5 minutes have been wasted.

Ali Zafar said that he would be out of the courtroom in the next 7 minutes, if the founder does not allow PTI, he will not appear.
