Rizwan Breaks T20I Record Of Babar and Kohli

During the second T20I against New Zealand in Rawalpindi, Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan achieved a significant milestone. In his 79th T20I inning, he became the fastest batter to score 3000 runs in T20I games, surpassing the record held jointly by Babar Azam and Virat Kohli.

Both Babar and Kohli reached the milestone in 81 innings. Mohammad Rizwan also became the second Pakistani, after Babar, to score 3,000 runs in T20I cricket. Chasing a target of 91 runs against the Black Caps, Rizwan played an unbeaten 45-run knock from 34 balls. He is also a leading contender for Pakistan’s vice-captaincy role in the shortest format, and an official announcement is expected to be made soon.

Moreover, Pakistan’s fast bowler Mohammad Amir said that he feels fit today compared to 2019 and the national team should not have any excuse to lose T20 World Cup 2024. While giving a press conference after the second T20 match against New Zealand in Rawalpindi, Amir said he was ready to play any role for the team. The star fast bowler added that good partnership leads to effective bowling. Naseem Shaheen is bowling very well, and Amir wants to play his role between the bowling of Naseem and Shaheen. He feels himself fit and is working on more fitness.
