President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in their messages on Kashmir Black Day, reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering moral, political, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people.
President Zardari said October 27, 1947 , marks the darkest day in Kashmir’s history, when Indian forces illegally occupied Srinagar in blatant violation of international law. He added that India’s August 5, 2019, actions were equally unlawful and unethical. The President condemned the collective punishment, destruction of property, and prolonged military siege of Kashmir, calling it unacceptable.
He urged the international community to hold India accountable for its grave human rights violations, stressing that lasting peace in South Asia depends on a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, said October 27 reminds the world of India’s 78-year-old illegal occupation of Kashmir, which deprived the Kashmiri people of their right to self-determination.
He emphasized that resolving the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions is essential for lasting peace and stability in the region.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue to raise Kashmir’s voice globally, adding that 240 million Pakistanis stand united with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters.
