Reasons For The Wheel Jam Strike In Balochistan
A wheel-jam strike is underway in Balochistan on the call of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F). Party workers have closed national highways for traffic, paralyzing life across the province.
Reasons for the strike
The strike is being called against the alleged changes and rigging in the re-election results of Balochistan Assembly constituency PB-45.
JUI-F demands that the results be announced according to Form 45.
Maulana Abdul Wasi said that the people of Balochistan are being deprived of basic amenities, while the law and order situation is very bad.
Closure of national highways
JUI workers have protested on important national highways:
The Quetta-Karachi National Highway has been closed at Lak Pass.
The national highway was blocked by burning tires near Sona Khan police station.
The Quetta-Karachi National Highway is closed at Kaushik in Khuzdar.
The Quetta-Taftan National Highway was also closed at the station in Nushki.
The National Highway connecting Balochistan with Punjab was blocked at Kangri in Qila Saifullah.
Difficulties for the public
Long queues of vehicles have formed due to the closure of the highways, and passengers are facing severe difficulties.
In Quetta, the strike has affected the flow of traffic while business activities have also been affected.
JUI’s strategy
Maulana Abdul Wasi said that every constitutional means will be taken to resolve the problems of the people. According to him:
The government has failed in its responsibilities, especially in the health and education sectors.
The poor law and order situation and unemployment have disappointed the people.
Jalsa will be held in different districts against the closure of the Afghan border in Chaman and on other public issues, the dates of which have been fixed.
Public Opinion
People say that protest is a fundamental right of every citizen, but it is not appropriate to cause inconvenience to the common people by blocking national highways.
