Quetta Heatwave Alert: PDMA Warns of Extreme Weather

Quetta: The Meteorological Department has warned that Quetta and the southern districts of Balochistan will remain in the grip of a heatwave from today to April 18.

The daytime temperature is likely to be 6 to 8 degrees Celsius higher than normal, while the weather will remain very hot at night.

The PDMA has expressed concern about possible damage to infrastructure due to dusty winds during the heatwave and has directed all relevant agencies to remain alert.

Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun and use more water.

Farmers have been instructed to take measures according to weather conditions regarding the wheat crop, while animals have also been urged to be protected from extreme heat.

The PDMA has directed all relevant officers to take precautionary measures and be ready to deal with any emergency.
