QUETTA: Upwards of 365 individuals, including the security workforce, have been martyred and a few harmed in fear-monger assaults, designated killings, bomb impacts, landmine blasts, and crimes up to this point this year in the common capital.

In 2023, about 5300 FIRs of serious crimes were registered, while in 2024, this number increased to about 6000, in which about 40 cases were dismissed.

According to reports, about 6900 people were nominated for serious crimes, out of which 2900 people were arrested and 1700 people were on bail.

122 cases of murder, 204 of attempt to murder, 94 of kidnapping,g and 3 cases of kidnapping for ransom were registered, including the Musawar case. Similarly, 664 cases of snatching a motorbike at gunpoint and 680 cases of motorcycle and other thefts were registered.

In addition, 631 cases of illegal possession of weapons and 42 cases of very serious robberies were also registered. 174 FIRs of accidents were also registered. According to sources, about 2500 cases are still under investigation.

December 2024 proved to be the most dangerous month of the entire year when 640 FIRs were registered this month. Officials say that these figures indicate that the rising crime rate in Quetta has become a serious challenge for public safety.
