Quetta Blast: 2 Killed, 17 Injured in Attack Near Police Vehicle

Two people were killed and 17 were injured in a blast on a double road in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan.

An explosion has occurred near a police vehicle on a double road in Quetta, in which 4 officials were injured. According to police sources, 2 people were killed and 17 were injured in the bomb blast. The deceased include Jabbar and an unknown person.

The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the Civil Hospital, while 17 people injured in the blast were taken to the Trauma Center.

Two children are also among the injured. According to the police, a vehicle and motorcycles were damaged in the blast.

The spokesperson of the Balochistan government said that the evil intentions of the terrorists will be foiled, and the involved elements will be brought to justice.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the incident of firing on passengers in his speech and expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of 5 people.

The Prime Minister directed that the incident be investigated, those responsible be identified and those who are responsible be punished, saying that the miscreants are enemies of peace and development of Balochistan.

Quetta Blast: President condemns, regrets loss of precious lives

President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep sorrow and regret over the loss of lives in the blast near a police mobile on Quetta’s double road.

The President said that such heinous acts during the holy month of Ramadan reflect the heinous intentions of terrorists.

He prayed for the highest ranks for the deceased and the patience of their families.

The President prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the blast and demanded that the government and the relevant institutions take strict measures against terrorism so that peace and order can be ensured in the country.
