Thursday’s meeting to increase economic activity in the Gwadar Port area was presided over by Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, who emphasised the government’s commitment to accelerating growth and regional development in the Balochistan region.
According to Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Gwadar will be crucial to Pakistan’s and Balochistan’s economic growth in the near future, raising the standard of living for those who live along Makran’s coast.
The government’s commitment to accelerating growth and regional development in the Balochistan region was emphasised by Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, the federal minister for maritime affairs, who presided over a meeting on Thursday with the goal of boosting economic activities in the Gwadar Port area.
A press release issued here stated that attendees of the meeting included the Federal Secretary of Maritime Affairs as well as representatives from the ministries of finance, industries & production, fisheries department, and commerce.
The federal minister underlined the necessity of coordinated efforts to improve import operation and business activity in addition to stressing the strategic significance of Gwadar Port as a major contributor to Pakistan’s economic prosperity.
Citing instructions from the prime minister to take immediate action to increase the import of government goods through Gwadar Port, he reiterated the government’s commitment to this cause.
The federal minister also stressed the importance of earlier rulings by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) and the prime minister’s orders from 2008 and 2022, respectively. These directives placed a strong emphasis on boosting the Gwadar area’s economy in order to support port operations and fully realise the region’s enormous potential as a thriving economic hub.
During the initial meeting, the federal minister instructed all involved parties to collaborate and show dedication towards achieving the goal of converting Gwadar Port into a thriving hub for trade and business. It was decided to make a concentrated effort to speed up the import procedure.
