PTI Reserved Seats: ECP Decides To Implement SC Verdict

The Election Commission has decided to implement the decision of the Supreme Court regarding specific seats.

The Election Commission also directed the legal team to approach the Supreme Court for further guidance. The Election Commission also rejected the demand for the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner and members as ridiculous.

The Election Commission held a meeting yesterday and today regarding the implementation of the order of the Supreme Court. In the meeting, the Election Commission decided to implement the decision of the Supreme Court. However, instructions were issued to the Election Commission’s legal team

If there is an obstacle in the implementation of any point of the decision of the Supreme Court, then they should immediately identify it so that the Supreme Court can be approached for further guidance.

Further, the Chief Election Commissioner and honorable members of the Election Commission were severely condemned and rejected by a political party for continuously and unnecessarily criticizing the Election Commission. The demand for resignation from the commission is absurd. The Commission will continue to work in accordance with the Constitution and the law without considering any kind of pressure.

Further, the Election Commission did not misinterpret any decision. PTI went to various forums and the decision of the Election Commission was upheld.

Because PTI’s intra-party elections were not valid. In the logical consequence of this Bet Kanshan was withdrawn under Section 215 of the Elections Act. Therefore, blaming the Election Commission is highly inappropriate.

The 39 MNAs who have been declared as MNAs of PTI had indicated their affiliation with PTI in their nomination papers, while to be a candidate of any party, it is necessary to submit the party ticket and declaration to the returning officer. That these candidates had not submitted. Therefore, it was not possible for the Returning Officers to declare him as a PTI candidate.

The 41 candidates who have been declared free did not mention PTI in their nomination papers did not show their party affiliation and did not submit any party ticket. Therefore, the Returning Officers allowed them to participate in the election in an independent capacity.

After winning the election, these MNAs voluntarily joined the Sunni Etihad Council within three days as required by law. In the Supreme Court, the Sunni Ittehad Council appealed against the decision of the Election Commission and the Peshawar High Court.

This appeal of the Sunni Unity Council was rejected. PTI was neither a party in the Election Commission nor a party before the Peshawar High Court nor a party in the Supreme Court in this case.

The meeting of the Election Commission was held today to implement the decision of the Supreme Court regarding giving specific seats to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The legal team of the Election Commission gave a briefing today. .

It should be remembered that yesterday’s meeting ended inconclusively. Sources of the Election Commission told New News that various aspects of its implementation were considered in the light of the Supreme Court’s order in yesterday’s meeting.

The Secretary Election Commission and the officials of the legal wings gave a briefing to the Election Commission, but no decision could be taken.
