President Asif Ali Zardari has said that joint efforts of Eastern nations are needed to ensure sustainable development and common prosperity.
In a virtual address to the second high-level meeting of the Global Action Forum for Common Development organized by the China International Development Cooperation Agency in Beijing, Asif Zardari said that the world’s future is to be shaped by promoting common development in the Global Development Initiative. There is great potential.
He said that developing countries should play a leadership role in the global development process, global challenges like sustainable development and health need to be seen from an Eastern perspective.
Asif Zardari said that most of the world’s population lives in eastern countries, especially China, Pakistan, and other neighboring countries.
Pakistan aspires to move forward in the 21st century under President Xi Jinping’s and China’s leadership in the Eastern countries and the world.
The President further said that China’s Global Development Initiative aims to accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda.
Pakistan and China have signed a memorandum of understanding for the implementation of the Global Development Initiative.
