Petrol is likely to become expensive by Rs 3.50 and diesel by Rs 3.70, while light diesel oil is likely to become expensive by Rs 5 and kerosene by more than Rs 6.
OGRA will determine the prices in proportion to the global market on January 15, while Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will give final approval to the prices.
The Ministry of Finance will issue a notification on the prices of petroleum products. The new prices will apply from January 16 to 31.
It should be noted that the government also increased the prices of petroleum products on January 1, 2025, while giving the first greeting of the new year to the public.
According to the notification of the Ministry of Finance, the prices of petroleum products were increased by Rs 2.96 for the next 15 days.
The price of petrol was increased by 56 paise per liter, while the price of high-speed diesel was increased by Rs. 2.96 per liter.
