PM’s & President’s Message On International Day Of Education
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s message on the occasion of International Day of Education, Today, we are recognizing the critical role of education in empowering individuals and communities while keeping pace with the rapid development of technology.
This year’s International Day of Education theme is “Artificial Intelligence and Education: Preserving the Human Factor in a World of Automation. ” We must ensure that advances in artificial intelligence help us in our collective efforts to serve humanity.
As AI-powered systems increasingly integrate into our lives, the boundaries between human intervention and machine-driven actions are blurred.
This situation is providing us with both opportunities and challenges. The crucial question is how can we maintain and enhance the human factor amidst the rising tide of automation?
We all recognize that education is the driving force behind change, the power that prepares young people to thrive in an evolving technological landscape.
By fostering critical thinking, innovation, and ethical responsibility, we aim to equip our citizens not only with the tools to adapt to technological change but also to shape them in ways that uphold our values, protect our freedoms, and advance our society.
We have taken significant steps to prepare our educational institutions to embrace technological advancements.
These steps include setting up high-impact IT labs in colleges teaching Information and Communication Technologies, digital hubs in ICT schools in villages, Google Centers of Excellence, smart classrooms, e-learning portals, etc.
Furthermore, we have launched projects such as employment centers, software technology parks, robotics and mind games, and STEAM labs to foster innovation. Our schools must be equipped with the latest technology to equip our children with the skills they need.
