PM Takes Notice of Salary Hike for Top Lawmakers
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of the increase in the salaries of the Chairman Senate, Deputy Chairman Senate, Speaker and Deputy Speaker National Assembly.
According to sources, the Prime Minister has sought a detailed report on this issue from the Speaker National Assembly and Chairman Senate. In the light of the report, the Prime Minister will take a final decision on this sensitive issue.
Sources say that the government is reviewing the extent to which the increase in the salaries of high-ranking officials is appropriate in the current economic situation.
