Pakistan’s Digital Youth Hub by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif connects young people to jobs, education, and skill development, aiming to empower the country’s massive youth population for a brighter economic future.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially launched the Digital Youth Hub, a comprehensive online platform designed to connect Pakistan’s youth with employment opportunities, scholarships, entrepreneurship programs, and technical training.
As 64% of Pakistan’s population is under 30, this initiative aims to harness the country’s young workforce for economic growth by bridging the gap between education and employment.
A Joint Effort for Youth Empowerment
The Digital Youth Hub is a collaboration between the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) and UNICEF. According to the PMYP website, this all-in-one portal will serve as a gateway for young people to access:
- Job opportunities in various industries
- Educational scholarships for higher studies
- Entrepreneurship programs to support startups
- Technical and vocational training for skill development
During the launch event in Islamabad, PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the critical role of modern technology in shaping the future of Pakistan’s youth. He highlighted AI, IT, and vocational training as key focus areas to prepare the younger generation for global job markets.
Tackling Youth Challenges with Digital Solutions
Despite Pakistan’s youth-driven demographic advantage, challenges such as high unemployment, lack of quality education, and limited vocational training opportunities continue to hinder progress.
The Digital Youth Hub aims to address these concerns by enhancing access to professional training and employment, reducing the risk of underutilized talent and brain drain.
In 2022 alone, over 800,000 Pakistanis left the country to seek better job opportunities abroad, highlighting the need for local job creation and skill development initiatives.
A Step Towards a Brighter Future: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif
Calling the Digital Youth Hub the “beginning of a bright future”, PM Shehbaz reaffirmed the government’s commitment to youth empowerment, ensuring collaboration with provinces, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan to extend opportunities nationwide.
By equipping young Pakistanis with essential skills and career opportunities, this initiative could be a game-changer in driving economic progress, innovation, and entrepreneurship across the country.
