During a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s House, a delegation from Saudi Arabia offered to invest in several projects, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The meeting was attended by federal ministers, including Ishaq Dar, who briefed the delegation about the projects related to their ministries.
The Saudi delegation was also offered investment opportunities in transmission lines, solar projects, mining projects, and joint ventures in two five-star hotels in Islamabad. According to the proposal, the land for the hotels will belong to the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and the investment will be made by Saudi Arabia, after which they will build the hotels. The delegation was also offered the Matari transmission line and First Women Bank. The Saudi delegation was also requested to build a healthy city, for which CDA is ready to become a partner or take money by giving land.
The Capital SIFC central secretary is handling all the work regarding the projects. The Saudi delegation was also scheduled to meet President Zardari and Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir. During the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the delegation to Pakistan and conveyed his best wishes to the Saudi leadership, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Prince Muhammad Bin Salman Al Saud.
The Prime Minister stated that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have a long-standing brotherly relationship that is unprecedented. He also appreciated Saudi Arabia’s support for Pakistan in difficult times. He further said that the visit of the Saudi delegation to Pakistan immediately after Eid-ul-Fitr is welcome, and it marks the beginning of a new era of strategic and commercial partnership between the two countries.
The Prime Minister highlighted the key role of Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and the cooperation of all institutions for the promotion of investment in the country in the Special Investment Facilitation Council. The delegation included Saudi Deputy Minister of Investment Engineer Ibrahim bin Yusuf Al Mubarak, Saudi Minister of Environment, Water Resources, and Agriculture Engineer Abdul Rahman bin Abdulhamsin Al-Fazli, Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Engineer Bandar bin Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al Kharif, and senior Saudi officials and diplomatic officials. Raza Naqvi, Jam Kamal Khan, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Abdul Aleem Khan, Dr. Mossadegh Malik, Sardar Owais Khan Laghari, Deputy Chairman Planning Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan, Member National Assembly Rumina Khurshid Alam, and government officials were also present
