PM Orders FIA to Confiscate Human Traffickers Assets
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, while appreciating the action taken against government officials facilitating human trafficking, ordered immediate legal action to be taken for the confiscation of the properties and assets of human traffickers.
Addressing a review meeting regarding the steps taken against human trafficking, the Prime Minister appreciated the performance of the FIA ​​on the recent steps taken against government officials involved in human trafficking.
He said that the recent initiation of disciplinary actions against government officials facilitating human traffickers is welcome,
Strict punitive action should also be taken against human traffickers so that they become an example.
Shahbaz Sharif directed that the prosecution process against all those involved in this heinous business should be made more effective, and the highest-ranking lawyers should be appointed for the prosecution after consulting the Ministry of Law and Justice.
The Prime Minister said that the Foreign Office should contact the relevant countries for Pakistanis running the business of human trafficking from abroad and take steps to extradite them to Pakistan as soon as possible.
He directed that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, should launch an awareness campaign among the public to take only legal routes for jobs abroad.
Shahbaz Sharif said that such technical training institutions should be promoted in the country, which can provide certified professionals to the foreign market as per the requirements of the present era.
He further said that the screening process of people going abroad at airports should be made more effective.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed on the measures taken against human trafficking in the country, legal action against facilitators and the progress of legislation to eliminate human trafficking.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam and senior officers of the relevant institutions attended the meeting.
It should be noted that several Pakistanis who illegally went to Europe died in boat accidents in Greece and Libya.
After this, the Prime Minister ordered the FIA ​​to take strict action, after which dozens of human smugglers were arrested.
The FIA ​​has also taken action against officers of its department and government officials during the operation.
