PM Meet President Islamic Development Bank, Agreed To Complete Project

During a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and the President of the Islamic Development Bank, Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasir, it was agreed to complete various ongoing projects of the Islamic Development Bank in Pakistan soon. The Islamic Development Bank thanked Pakistan for investing one billion US dollars in various projects during its previous regime.

The Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the assistance of the Islamic Development Bank in the rehabilitation of Pakistan after the flood and recognized the personal support and leadership role of Dr. Al Jasir. Discussions were held to find new opportunities. The Prime Minister talked about the Special Investment Facilitation Council, which has been established to develop foreign investment in the country, remove all concerns of foreign investors, and provide one-window operations.

The Islamic Development Bank expressed its useful partnership with Pakistan, along with assisting in reconstruction and employment, as well as the government’s sustainable development objectives. At the end of the meeting, the President of the Islamic Development Bank, Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasir, said that Pakistan is a founding member of the Islamic Development Bank and an important member.

He also praised the country for its rich natural and water resources and manpower and prayed for the prosperity and improvement of Pakistan. The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar, and Federal Minister of Petroleum. Mossadegh Malik, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, and Federal Minister for Energy Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari were also present.
