Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced to give special relief for 3 months to consumers who consume up to 200 units of electricity.
While addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the recent increase in electricity prices will not apply to protected and non-protected consumers consuming up to 200 units of electricity.
The Prime Minister said that a huge amount of Rs 50 billion has been allocated for the relief of the poor and middle class, under this package 94% of the domestic consumers will be given relief.
Shahbaz Sharif said that this special relief is being given in the three months of summer, July, August, and September, this decision will benefit about 2.6 million electricity consumers and reduce inflation.
He said that consumers consuming up to 200 units of electricity will get a relief of Rs 4 to 7 per unit.
He further said that if the weather improves in October, the consumption will be reduced, and 50 billion rupees will be spent on 2.5 crore consumers.
This will include K Electric, the legitimate demand of the people will be fulfilled by this announcement, the IMF agreement was a compulsion of the country, the elites have benefited enormously from Pakistan, and now it is time to return the benefit.
