The National College of Arts (NCA) and the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD), two esteemed educational establishments in Lahore, are scheduled to establish branches in Karachi shortly. Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training and Chairman of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, made this declaration on Saturday at a news conference.
The vice-chancellors of PIFD and NCA, the head of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), and other high-ranking officials joined Dr. Siddiqui. He said that the young people of Sindh would be able to access “employable skill-based short courses” at the new campuses.
Dr. Siddiqui refuted the idea that the federal education ministry’s operations were restricted to Islamabad, highlighting the ministry’s national reach. He emphasised the significance of educating the country’s youth, who comprise 60% of the population, in order to capitalise on their advantages.
Dr. Siddiqui made similarities to nearby nations that had effectively used their sizable populations to progress technology by emphasising workforce development. He emphasised that Pakistan must take a similar course by providing its kids with skills targeted at the workforce.
Dr. Siddiqui also announced an expansion of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission’s (NAVTTC) centres and courses in addition to the new campuses in Karachi. He talked on partnerships with both domestic and foreign organisations, like Microsoft and Huawei, to improve youth training possibilities in Pakistan.
In addition, Dr. Siddiqui discussed the quickly evolving global trends and emphasised the importance of education for Pakistan’s development and survival. He underlined how crucial it is to act quickly to set the nation up for success in the future.
In response to a query concerning brain drain, Dr. Siddiqui characterised it as a trend in the good direction, implying that the ultimate migration of young people overseas will result in higher remittances and a more robust international profile for Pakistan.
In response to a question concerning his opinions on the revival of student unions, Dr. Siddiqui reaffirmed the significance of these organisations, saying that both student and labour unions act as breeding grounds for future political figures.
