Manila: A 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Philippines, resulting in the collapse of multiple buildings and the death toll rising to 69.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at 10:00 PM, with a depth of 10 kilometers, and its epicenter was located 17 kilometers northeast of Bogo City.
Damage and Affected Areas
In the central coastal region, the earthquake caused a sports complex to collapse during a basketball match. In addition, churches, bridges, and roads were severely damaged, and dozens of people were injured.
Rescue and Emergency Measures
Several aftershocks were also felt following the main quake. Authorities have declared a state of emergency in Cebu, closing schools and government offices for the day. Rescue operations are ongoing to save people trapped under the debris, and officials have warned that the death toll may rise further.
