Peshawar Blast: Explosion Near Mosque Wall in Armar
An IED explosion took place near the wall of a mosque in the limits of Armar police station in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing Mufti Munir Shakir.
According to Dawn News, the spokesperson for Lady Reading Hospital confirmed that Mufti Munir Shakir, who was injured in the explosion, died.
The LRH spokesperson further said that 3 people injured in the explosion are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Earlier, according to Dawn News, the police said that 4 people were injured in the explosion,
While police officers, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDU) and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officers reached the spot.
According to the police, the explosion was homemade.
Meanwhile, Health Advisor Ehtesham Ali expressed grief over the martyrdom of Mufti Munir Shakir and said that he was deeply saddened to hear about the martyrdom of Mufti Munir Shakir.
Health Advisor Ehtesham Ali further said that Mufti Munir Shakir was brought to LRH for initial treatment. Mufti Munir Shakir succumbed to his injuries and assumed the position of martyr.
It should be noted that earlier today, terrorist attacks on 4 different police stations in Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were foiled and no casualties were reported, however, 2 police personnel were injured in the attack.
