PCB Announces Squad For ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup

The Pakistan Women’s team for the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup to be held in Dambulla next month has been announced.

Nida Dar has been retained as the captain and the tournament will be held from July 19 to 28.

The Pakistan team has been selected at the end of the four-day camp held in Karachi.

Pakistan’s squad includes Alia Riaz, Diana Baig, Fatima Sana, Gul Feroza, Iram Javed, Muniba Ali, Najiha Alvi, Nashera Sindhu, Umima Sohail, Sadia Iqbal, Sudra Amin, Syeda Aroob Shah, Tasmia Rabab and Touba Hasan.

Ayesha Zafar, Natalia Pervez, Ramin Shamim, Sadaf Shams, Umm Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar did not make it to the team.

She was part of the 17-member squad that toured England last month.

The selectors have included Iram Javed, Umima Sohail, Syeda Aroob Shah, and Tasmia Rabab in the team.

Aram Javed played his 53rd and final T20I against Bangladesh in Chittogram in October 2023 while Umeema played his 48th and final T20I against New Zealand in Queenstown in December 2023 and Arub The seventh and final T20 was in Karachi against South Africa in September 2023.

On the other hand, the training camp of the Pakistan Women’s team for the ACC Women’s T20 Asia will start on July 5 in Karachi and will continue until the departure of the team on July 16.

Pakistan has been placed in Group A along with India, Nepal, and UAE while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Malaysia are in Group B, with the top two teams from each group playing in the semi-finals on July 26.

Pakistan will face India on the opening day of the tournament on July 19, while its matches against Nepal and UAE will be held on July 21 and 23 respectively.
