Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce arrived today at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, leading a high-level trade delegation to attend the 5th Pakistan-Africa Trade Development Conference (PATDC) and Single Country Exhibition (SCE), scheduled from October 16 to 18, 2025, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Minister was warmly welcomed at the airport by H.E. Mr. Burhanu Tsegeye, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia; Mr. Abdul Hakim Mulu, Minister of State for Trade and Regional Integration; Mr. Diwano Kedir, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ambassador Jamal Baker; and officials from the Pakistan Embassy in Addis Ababa, including the Trade and Investment Officer.
Organized jointly by the Ministry of Commerce and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), the PATDC and SCE serve as flagship initiatives of the Government of Pakistan to strengthen economic and commercial engagement with African nations. This year’s edition in Ethiopia represents a major milestone in advancing Pakistan’s “Look Africa Policy,” aimed at diversifying export markets and enhancing trade and investment ties with Africa.
Over 110 leading Pakistani companies from sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, engineering, IT, agriculture, and food processing are participating in the exhibition, highlighting Pakistan’s expanding industrial capabilities and export potential.
During the visit, the Commerce Minister will also hold bilateral meetings with Ethiopian counterparts, senior government officials, and business leaders to explore new avenues for trade cooperation and investment.
The conference emphasizes Pakistan’s commitment to building mutually beneficial partnerships across Africa and promoting inclusive economic growth through trade diplomacy.
