Pakistan Wins Vice-Chair of UN Counter-Terrorism Committee
New York: Pakistan has scored a major diplomatic victory by assuming the vice-chairmanship of the UN Security Council’s Counter-Terrorism Committee, effectively rejecting India’s anti-Pakistan narrative at the global level.
The 15-member Counter-Terrorism Committee monitors counter-terrorism efforts worldwide, and Pakistan’s vice-chairmanship reflects its effective role in its decision-making process.
Moreover, Pakistan has also been entrusted with the chairmanship of the Taliban Sanctions Committee, which is responsible for measures such as freezing the Taliban’s financial assets, imposing travel restrictions, and arms embargoes.
A Pakistani diplomatic delegation, led by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, is currently in the US.where they exposed India’s false propaganda and presented Pakistan’s position comprehensively during meetings with representatives of various UN member states.
