Pakistan Will Not Negotiate With Any Terrorist Group: Foreign Office

Islamabad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has clarified that trade with Afghanistan will only be possible once terrorist safe havens there are completely eliminated. Foreign Office spokesperson, Tahir Hussain Andarabi, said in a weekly briefing that since the Afghan Taliban came to power, terrorism in Pakistan has increased, and Pakistan will not negotiate with any terrorist group.

He stated that TTP and BLA are enemies of Pakistan, and the Afghan Taliban are providing support to anti-Pakistan groups. The Taliban have also tried to promote Pashtun nationalism within Pakistan. Pakistan has not refused to negotiate with any legitimate government in Kabul, but it will have no dealings with terrorists.

The Foreign Office also rejected India’s claims regarding nuclear tests, clarifying that Pakistan last conducted a nuclear test on May 28, 1999. Trade with Afghanistan is not more important than human lives and will remain suspended until terrorists are eliminated.

The spokesperson noted that Afghan terrorists were involved in attacks in Wana and Islamabad, holding the Taliban government responsible. He added that India is using terrorism to divert attention from internal challenges. Regarding the King of Jordan’s visit, it was stated that Pakistan’s participation in Palestine-related international peace efforts will follow the decisions of the UN Security Council.
