The Sir Syed Express will resume on September 1st, according to a statement from Pakistan Railways. The Railways department said that starting on September 1, a train will operate between Karachi and Rawalpindi under the administration of the private sector.
Following disastrous floods in 2022, the Railway Department has chosen to resume train operations in collaboration with a private logistics company.
In order to assist and accommodate the passengers, Pakistan Railways previously indicated that it is prepared to create a “Summer Vacation Special Train.”
The train will travel from Karachi to Rawalpindi from July 5 to July 30, according to the Ministry of Railways.
“Under the direction of Secretary Railways Syed Mazhar Ali Shah, all the preparations for the train’s launch have already been completed,” an official stated.

The representative also stated that the special train (50-Dn) would leave Rawalpindi on July 5 and run on July 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, and 29.
He stated that the trip is expected to leave at 12:30 pm and land at Karachi Cantt at 2:15 pm the following day.
According to the official, on July 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, and 30, the return service (49-Up) will leave Karachi Cantt at 8:45 p.m. and arrive in Rawalpindi at 10 p.m. On Sunday, Pakistan Railway declared that the Sir Syed Express would start running again on September 1, 2024.
The railway service between Rawalpindi and Karachi will be operational, offering a vital connection between the two cities.
