Pakistan Navy Launches Sea Guard 2025 Exercise in Karachi
The inaugural ceremony of Pakistan Navy’s Exercise “Sea Guard 2025” was held in Karachi, in which representatives of various government, civil and private organizations participated.
Notable Participation in the Ceremony
Representatives of more than 50 national stakeholders including Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, Pakistan Coast Guards, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), Customs, KPT, Port Qasim Authority and FIA participated in the ceremony. In addition, representatives of civil institutions, NGOs and fishing communities were also present.
Objectives of the Exercise
The efforts of the Joint Maritime Information and Coordination Center (JMICC) and the main objectives of the exercise were highlighted during the ceremony.
Commander Coast said that the Pakistan Navy is always ready to deal with conventional and non-conventional maritime threats.
Strong commitment against maritime crimes
According to Commander Coast, Exercise “Sea Guard 2025” is a manifestation of the Pakistan Navy’s strong commitment against drugs, weapons, human trafficking and illegal fishing through sea routes.
The main objective of this exercise is to create effective coordination among all national stakeholders regarding maritime security through the platform of JMICC.
Outcomes and Future Strategies
The exercise paid special attention to maritime security, maritime intelligence sharing, and joint operations so that any illegal activity in the maritime boundaries can be effectively prevented.
Pakistan Navy thanked the national stakeholders for their enthusiastic participation and reiterated its commitment to take more coordinated measures for maritime security.
