Pakistan Marks Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with Zeal and Reverence

The birth anniversary of the Last Messenger, Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), is being observed across the country with great religious zeal and reverence. The federal and provincial governments have announced a public holiday on the occasion.

Streets, neighborhoods, and marketplaces in cities and towns are decorated with lights, green flags, and illuminated arches, while public and private buildings glow with colorful lighting. Mosques have also been beautifully adorned, and gatherings of naat recitations and darood o salaam are taking place, filling the atmosphere with blessings. In many areas, food and sweets are being distributed among the people. Law enforcement agencies have made foolproof security arrangements for 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.

Prime Minister’s Message

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his special message, said that 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal marks the blessed day when, 1500 years ago, the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Makkah illuminated the world, replacing darkness with light and guiding humanity towards justice, mercy, equality, and unity.

He noted that this year, Pakistan and the Muslim world are observing the 1500th birth anniversary of the Prophet (PBUH) as the Year of Rahmatul-lil-Alameen (Mercy to the Worlds). He said the resolutions passed by the National Assembly and Senate reflect the nation’s resolve to make the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings an integral part of the Constitution, laws, and collective life.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a perfect model for all times, whether in politics, governance, justice, economy, trade, or social values. He stressed the need to introduce the new generation to the Prophet’s (PBUH) life so they can embrace knowledge, goodness, and peace.

He further said that the Prophet’s (PBUH) Seerah teaches us to use our words for goodness and spread the message of love, peace, and brotherhood to the world. Pakistan, he added, must become a true reflection of the Prophet’s (PBUH) principles by rejecting sectarianism, extremism, and hatred, while promoting unity, sacrifice, and harmony.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif concluded by praying for Pakistan’s peace, unity, and prosperity, and for the strength to live with love and obedience to the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
