Riyadh: Sales of Pakistani rice in the Saudi Arabian market have increased by 25 percent.

According to details, Pakistani rice exports to the Saudi market have reached $4 billion this year, while Pakistani rice exports are expected to reach $4.5 billion by 2025.

The popularity of Pakistani rice quality among Saudi consumers has increased, while work is underway on the strategy of Pakistani rice exporters in the Saudi market.

In this regard, a delegation of rice exporters met with Saudi business leaders, and mutual cooperation was agreed upon.

The Chairman of the Saudi-Pakistani Business Council praised Pakistani rice, while Pakistan expressed its determination to strengthen its position in the Saudi rice market.

It should be noted that Saudi Arabia has had special relations with Pakistan since its inception. The first friendship treaty between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia was signed in 1951 during the reign of King Ibn Saud, and these relations were greatly promoted during the reign of King Faisal.

In the past, bilateral trade between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia has been worth US$3.5 billion.

Pakistan mainly imports petroleum products, plastic goods, organic chemicals, and fertilizers from Saudi Arabia and exports grains, meat, textiles, beverages, fruits, and vegetables to Saudi Arabia.
