The Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, stated that Switzerland’s businesses and institutions have greatly contributed to Pakistan’s development. He made this statement as the chief guest at the celebration of Switzerland’s 733rd National Day, alongside the Ambassador of Switzerland to Pakistan, Georg Steiner, on Thursday.
Minister Khan emphasized that the partnership between the two countries will play a crucial role in addressing challenges and creating new opportunities as they work towards inclusive growth and sustainable development.
He extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of Switzerland from the Government and people of Pakistan, acknowledging Switzerland’s remarkable journey characterized by neutrality, innovation, and commitment to human rights, which serves as an inspiring example globally.
Minister Khan also expressed a commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and building on the foundation of trust and mutual respect between the two nations. He emphasized the significant contribution of Swiss businesses and institutions to Pakistan’s development and highlighted Switzerland’s positive impact on various industries in Pakistan through its commitment to innovation and quality.
Ambassador Steiner added that Swiss companies invest $100 million in Pakistan annually, creating thousands of jobs, and emphasized the mutually beneficial relations between Pakistan and Switzerland over the last 75 years.
