Pakistan Army Ready to Counter Any Aggression: DG ISPR
Islamabad: DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that Pakistan is a peaceful country, but if the enemy imposes aggression, the Pakistan Army will give a befitting reply.
He said this in an in-camera meeting on national security in which Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar also participated.
According to sources, the meeting briefed leaders of the country’s political parties on the current security situation, especially possible threats in the context of the false flag operation in the Indian area of Pahalgam and the Pakistani army’s preparations. A large number of leaders of the government coalition attended the meeting.
The DG ISPR said that the Pakistani army is ready at all levels to respond to any enemy adventure.
In the briefing, the Information Minister also briefed the political leaders about diplomatic efforts and the state’s stance. On the other hand, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf boycotted the briefing.
According to the PTI spokesperson, in the current sensitive situation, it would have been a more appropriate move to call an all-party conference instead of an in-camera briefing.
